Private Naturopathic Care for Women in Vancouver & BC

A proven approach for healing hormone burnout and fatigue for the high-functioning woman.

You don't have 20 things wrong with you.

I know it feels that way. The fatigue, the bloating, the mood swings, the 3 am wake-ups, the hormones that seem to have a mind of their own, the brain fog that makes you feel like a stranger in your own head.

You've probably seen multiple doctors, been referred to multiple specialists, and walked away with a different explanation (and a different prescription) for each one.

But here's what nobody has told you yet: these symptoms aren't separate problems. They're one loop. And that loop has a starting point.

That's the moment that changes everything for my patients.

Usually, it happens on our very first call.

The Moment Everything Makes Sense

Most of my patients have their first real aha moment on our very first call.

Not because I say something revolutionary, but because I say something they've always known and never had confirmed.

Here's the pattern I see constantly:

You're a driven, dedicated woman. You've been managing a full life,  career, relationships, responsibilities , and at a pace that doesn't leave much room for your body to recover. Chronic stress, even the low-grade kind that just comes with being someone who cares deeply and shows up for everything, puts your nervous system into survival mode.

Your body starts producing cortisol around the clock just to keep you going. That works for a while. Until it doesn't.

When cortisol dysregulation sets in, your hormones start to feel unsafe.

Here's the thing, your body is extraordinarily smart, it is not going to prioritize reproductive function when it thinks you're under threat. So hormone production starts to shift. Your cycle changes. PMS gets worse. Sleep deteriorates.

At the same time, nervous system dysregulation feeds directly into your gut. Stuck in fight-or-flight, your digestion can't do its job properly. Bloating, gas, discomfort, and poor nutrient absorption follow. And without the right nutrients, your body can't produce or clear hormones effectively. Which makes everything worse.

Meanwhile, blood sugar dysregulation, which happens when your body is running on stress,  leaves you shaky in the afternoon, snapping at people you love, waking at 3 am, and holding weight around your belly.

That fuels inflammation. Inflammation drives the heaviness, the puffiness, the pain, the exhaustion that sleep doesn't fix.

This is not twenty problems. This is one system, stuck in a loop.

And when the healthcare system sends you to a gastroenterologist for the bloating, an endocrinologist for the hormones, and a psychiatrist for the mood, all while telling you to go to the gym...we are doing women's health a profound disservice.

You already knew these things were connected. You've felt it. You just needed someone to show you how to heal them.

The Reclaim Method: Treating the Whole System, Not Just the Symptoms

I'm a naturopathic doctor with a focus on hormones. But if I kept my blinders on and only looked at hormones (i.e., gave you herbs for your hormones, nutrition for your hormones, supplements for your hormones) I'd be missing everything driving the hormone problem in the first place.

And here's the thing about chasing symptoms: what happens when you go on vacation, forget your supplements for two weeks, enjoy a patio season, get a cold? If we've only been managing symptoms, you're back to square one. That's not what I'm building with you.

The Reclaim Method works across five interconnected body systems:

Reclaim Pillars (3).webp

Pillar One: Nervous System and Stress

Our goal: Regulate your stress response

Chronic stress, even the low-grade kind that comes from being 'on' all the time, puts your body into survival mode.

I explain this to my patients as your alarm bell: it was designed to ring for short emergencies, not for years of burnout. When the alarm is stuck on, your whole body is in survival mode: your digestion is off, your inflammation kicks up, your hormones can't hear their own signals, and your blood sugar goes wild.

When it finally quiets, the other systems don't have to work so hard just to keep you upright. This is almost always the first system we look at because when the nervous system settles, everything else becomes easier to reach.

Pillar Two: Gut and Liver Health

Our goal: Restore digestion and hormone clearance

In survival mode, digestion can't do its job. Bloating, poor nutrient absorption, and gut discomfort happen as a result.

But there's a second piece most people miss: your liver is your filter. It clears used hormones so they don't recirculate and cause havoc. Think of it like an air filter that hasn't been changed, the fan keeps running, but everything in the house gets dirtier and dustier over time.

We restore gut function and clearance so your body can actually let go of what it no longer needs.

Pillar Three: Immune and Inflammation

Our goal: Reduce chronic inflammation

Inflammation is the heaviness, the puffiness, the pain and the exhaustion that sleep doesn't fix. At the same time, your immune system can be out of control, making you react to all the foods you eat and always (or never!) getting sick.

I describe this pillar as internal noise, the static that drowns out every other signal your body is trying to send. When the noise is high enough, nothing else gets through clearly. We lower that static so your system can finally reset and hear itself again.

Pillar Four: Hormones and Cycles

Our goal: Rebalance your hormones

Once the foundation is stable, your hormones can do what they're designed to do. Not because we forced them with herbs or willpower, but because we removed what was blocking them. Your cycle is not a mystery to solve, it is a report card for the four pillars before it. When those systems are regulated, the report card changes.

Pillar Five: Blood Sugar and Energy

Our goal: Reignite your energy

Running on stress means running on cortisol and caffeine. That leaves you shaky by 3 pm, snapping at people you love, and subsequently waking at 3 am. Think of this like your fuel gauge, some women are running on empty, others are flooded with fuel they can't use. Either way, the gauge is funky. We stabilize it so your hormones have consistent, clean energy to work with. No willpower required.

The Reclaim Method is a cycle because there's no single starting point, and sometimes women get stuck in this 'shit spiral' for years without knowing how to stop it!

We can't reduce inflammation without addressing the nervous system. We can't improve hormones without improving digestion. Everything is literally all connected, and that's exactly why this approach works when symptom-by-symptom treatment hasn't.

What Working With Me Actually Feels Like

I'm Dr. Maya Matthews, a licensed naturopathic doctor practicing virtually across British Columbia. I founded Reclaim Wellness because I kept seeing the same pattern: high-functioning women being sent home with normal labs and no real answers. The Reclaim Method is how I finally stopped chasing their symptoms and started treating the system underneath them.

I'm not here to fix you. I'm not a healer.

I'm an initiator. My job is to get you curious about your own health, excited to understand what your body is telling you, empowered to work with it instead of against it. I help you translate your symptoms into information, and that information into a plan that actually makes sense for your life.

Think of your health like a car. You don't go in for one oil change once and expect to be good for the next hundred thousand kilometres.

You need the oil changes, yes, but also the gas, the windshield wiper top-ups, the flat tire fixed when it happens, and occasionally the timing belt repaired.

Maintenance isn't a sign that something is wrong. It's how you keep something running beautifully.

I tell my patients I'm here for them for next 20 years if they'll have me. Because long-term health isn't built in six visits, it's built through a relationship where your baseline keeps rising, your resilience keeps growing, and when real life happens (like a a stressful season, an illness, a chaotic month) you bounce back faster every time.

We're not building a protocol. We're building a lifestyle that fits, works, and lasts.

Between our visits, you are not left alone with a handout. Every patient gets the Foundations Program, a gentle, 5-part video sequence that arrives every few days, covering the small but high-leverage habits that make your protocol work better: sleep, hydration, breakfast, eating practices, and movement. Each is designed as a 10-minute watch, not extra homework. I also check in with you personally via Messenger in the first weeks, because I want to know how you are doing before you even think to tell me

How Care Is Structured

Your appointments are designed around three distinct phases. Each one has a clear purpose and a clear feeling.

Phase One: Clarity
Weeks 1-4

Visit 1 (75 min): Full health assessment. We map your symptom patterns, identify system imbalances, and I show you the loop that's been keeping you stuck. You leave with foundational nutrition, lifestyle, and supplement recommendations.

Visit 2 (2 weeks later, 45 min): Your Personalized Healing Blueprint. We review your 5-pillar assessment, prioritize your top 3 focus areas, and expand your targeted protocol.

Most patients feel relief after these two visits, not because everything is fixed, but because someone finally connected the dots.

Phase Two: Change
Months 2-5

45 or 30-minute visits, spaced 4–8 weeks apart. The number of visits depends on how many pillars need active protocol work. Each visit refines and layers: digestion, nervous system, energy, inflammation, addressed in sequence or combination as needed. This is where you feel the difference between managing symptoms and actually changing your system.

Phase Three: Stability
Months 4-6+

30-minute check-ins. Labs reviewed if applicable. Long-term maintenance, resilience, and fine-tuning. Care at this stage isn't about fixing; it's about protecting what we've built and continuing to optimize. Some patients stay in active care. Others move into periodic check-ins every few months. We figure that out together.

Typical arc: 3–6 months for meaningful shift. 6–12 months for full engagement.

There's no arbitrary endpoint. Some patients stay in active care. Others move into periodic check-ins every few months. We figure that out together based on where you are and where you want to go.
